Prepare my Heart - Bible Journaling Exodus

The First5 App has been so very touching to me this week. I am very much enjoying this journey through Exodus. Yesterday I worked through chapter 19. I love how the First5 devotional uses this chapter to point out how we are to prepare our hearts for Worship. All creation trembles in the presence of God. I want my heart to always worship with reverence, fear, trembling, hope and anticipation and I want to be ready. Absolutely ready to do His work whenever I am asked.

I journaled these pages in response to the First5 devotional from yesterday. If you don't have the app be sure to check it out. It is a brilliant way to conect with God before I ever get out of bed!

I used the NOW RESTOCKED Marquee Alpha Stamps from my Shop and lots of bright acrylics to bring this page to life and remind me to be prepared for God, always.

Happy Friday, Friends!!

Bible Journaling Exodus Freedom and Victory

Happy Wednesday!

I am so excited about these pages in my Bible because I don't usually do a 2 page spread like this. I am absolutely loving these colors. This is also the first time I have used this new stamp set from my shop. It is so perfect for Easter and Lent journaling. Can you believe Lent starts on February 10th! Its coming right up!

These pages in my Bible are based on Monday and Tuesday's readings in the First5 App. First5 is one of my favorite devotionals. It gets me in the word before I even get out of bed. You should check it out. On the right page I actually journaled the prayer that was directly on the app

"Heavenly Father, when I’m up against the attacks of the Enemy, help me to raise high the banner of Jesus’ Name as I stand firm on the Rock of my salvation. May I always remember that as I speak the powerful name of Jesus Christ, Satan has to flee. In Jesus’ name, Amen."

I stamped the word victory using acrylic paint instead of ink and outlined it with a white uniball gel pen. so fun and acrylics don't bleed like many inks can! Its like my new favorite technique! You can get your own set of stamps HERE. I have LOTS of stamps and journaling cards perfect for Bible Journaling so be sure to visit Growing Meadows on Etsy :)

Get into The Word today!

John 10:10-11 The Good Shepherd Bible Journaling

Happy Wednesday! I was so excited to work on this page in John Chapter 10! I was super excited to use the new stamps from my shop and I am in love with how the page turned out. I just adore these colors.

John 10:10-11
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

I am in such awe of my Jesus in this passage. Jesus says he came, He laid down His life for me, so that I can have life abundantly. He was willing to be tortured and die just so I can have life in Him. I don't want to take advantage of this promise. I do not want His sacrifice for me to be in vain. I want to work for Him ALWAYS. Truly abundant life comes from obedience to the Living God. When I respond to the Holy Spirit the blessing rain down, and the abundant life Jesus promises is fulfilled for me and for you. How are you responding to the Shepherd today? His voice always leads you forward on the path of abundance.

I am including a complete list of resources for you:

Wonder Working Power! Bible Journaling 1 John Chapter 1 Journaling Cards and Confetti Tape!

Happy Monday!!

Today's bible Journaling is on 1 John 1:5-7. I was excited to add a few things to this page! Some fun paint splatters, this ADORABLE Journaling Card from my Shop, song lyrics and DIY Confetti Tape inspired by Celeste @precious.to.me on instagram.

1 John 1:5-7

"This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin."

In the margin I used my Illustrated Faith Pen to scribble out the lyric of the first verse of the song. It says:

Would you be free from the burden of sin?
There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;
Would you o’er evil a victory win?
There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood.
There is pow’r, pow’r, wonder-working pow’r
In the blood of the Lamb

I think many times as Christians we don't realize the absolute power we have through our Faith. We share and inheritance with the Almighty Son of God. There is POWER in His blood and if we have accepted Him as our Savior then we are FORGIVEN and we are washed with that POWER. I want to encourage you today to walk in the light and use the influence you have as a mom, spouse, employee or volunteer to sprinkle Jesus all around! Let it shine, friends!

On Singing Your Song - Acts 16:25-34 Paul and Silas in Prison

Happy Monday, Friends!

I'm so excited because today I want to talk about one of my very favorite passages in the Bible. Paul and Silas find themselves in a prison cell...

Acts 16:25-34

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them, and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's bonds were unfastened. When the jailer woke and saw that the prison doors were open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped. But Paul cried with a loud voice, “Do not harm yourself, for we are all here.” And the jailer called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas. Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he was baptized at once, he and all his family. Then he brought them up into his house and set food before them. And he rejoiced along with his entire household that he had believed in God.

There are so many good things happening here. I'm not sure how to keep all of my excitement over this passage into a rational couple of paragraphs but here goes:

Let's start with the obvious: Paul and Silas are SINGING and PRAISING God through their horrible situation. This isn't some heated jail cell where the prisoners are fed 3 meals a day. They don't get to watch Monday Night Football when they have good behavior. They don't have a treadmill to burn off steam. Their situation was certainly a miserable one. So let's take a look at the chain of events that unfold BECAUSE they continue to sing...Let's start with this: The earth shakes. The earth SHAKES, people. When God shows up, y'all...everyone knows it. This story is all about obedience. Did Paul cause the earth to shake? Of course not. Paul and Silas were just continuing to sing their song in obedience to God and God handled the rest. We are only responsible to follow the Spirit in obedience. God will make the fruit. The Jailer and his family were saved because they chose to believe in Jesus as Paul explained. The Kingdom of God will ALWAYS increase when we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. You can always tell when someone is walking in obedience because of the fruit that God is able to produce. This theme is hashed out over and over in the Bible. Sometimes God calls us to do relatively simple things in hard situations. This makes the simple tasks seem much more daunting. It makes us feel like we just can't achieve what God has for us to achieve. Let me encourage you to keep on singing! Get into The Word. Build that relationship with the Living God.

What is your song? Paul and Silas were called to praising through their incarceration. Maybe you are being called to bloom where you are planted or maybe you are being called to take an epic leap of faith. Either way you can be sure that God can and WILL use you if you are obedient. Someday we will have the opportunity to meet that jailer and his family in heaven we will have that opportunity because Paul and Silas were able to burst into song. Friends, real and true joy is not reliant on circumstances or even happiness. It comes from Jesus. It's all Jesus. Everything is about Jesus.

You can scoop up the Burst into Song Stamp Set in my etsy shop. I hope you will stop by and check out all the stamps!

I Need You Bible Journaling

Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links.Growing Meadows is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon.com

Hi Guys! Today I really wanted to add some worship music to my Bible. Yesterday during worship our team sang I Need You by Matt Maher. It is one of my favorites and I wanted to add some lyrics to my Bible. I found this passage in Psalm 86 and I thought it went perfectly.

Psalm 86:1
Incline your ear, O Lord, and answer me,
for I am poor and needy.

The psalmist is pouring his heart to God. Boy, I can relate, can't you? I want to tell you, sisters. He bends down to listen to us. We can whisper our secrets to the King of Kings. He hears you. Oh how I need Him!

First, I put down a flood of watercolor using my NeoColor II paints and added some gold acrylic splatters. Next, I thought this cute Journaling Card from my shop went just right! It is a tiny Hymn "I Need Thee Every Hour" so I taped it on with some washi and added the Matt Maher lyrics in the margin. So simple!

I will include a list of resources for you below. It's the Monday after a long Holiday for many of us. I pray it is amazing for you!
