Journaling Psalm 145

Happy Monday, Friends!

A while back I posted some custom moleskines I designed using some of the stamps from my shop. I have started using one of them as a Prayer/Praise Art Journal. One confession I have is that I haven't ever really kept any sort of journal or planner until the last 8 months or so. When I started journaling in my journaling Bible last fall all of that started to change. I have such a deep desire to journal prayers, praises, verses and ALLTHETHINGS God reveals to me from his word.

This morning I was reading Psalm chapter 145 and I was so touched that I decided to write the entire chapter long hand. I started by adding a little color to the pages with my Tombow Dual Brush Pens and then I added a few stamps from the Praise Him stamp set I designed. When I was going through the verses 1 by 1 I added the "Praise" stamp when the word Praise popped up. Overall I just love looking at this. Although I have just started this journal and it is truly my first art Journal (aside from my Bible) I am already loving it. I pray this is a love letter I can present to God from my heart.

...His greatness is unsearchable...
The Lord is good to ALL and His Mercy is over all that He has made...
[His] kingdom is an everlasting kingdom...
The LORD is righteous...

I know I use this phrase a LOT but, CHRISTIANS! This is our GOD! He is amazing and awesome. I hope you are encouraged today to go read Psalm 145 and praise the Lord!!

AMEN! Embossing in my Journaling Bible

Hi there!!

Having stamps in my shop has inspired me to create all kinds of new projects! Last week I did some embossing on rainbow paint to create some journaing cards. Today I wanted to try embossing in my Bible. I have never tried this before in my Journaling Bible and I am so happy with it!

I went ahead and used the same technique I did with the journaling cards since I was happy with the results. I can see how embossing in my Bible might become a new favorite for me!

The paints are Master's Touch Acrylics. I also used VersaMark Pigment Inkpad and Ranger Black Sparkle Embossing Powder for the embossing. The AMEN stamp is from the Praise Him Stamp Set in the Growing Meadows shop.

You guys know I can't resist a Psalm. Blessed be the LORD!! AMEN!! This couldn't be easier, folks. Just add some paint to the edge of an old gift card, scrap it on to the page and let it dry. Stamp your image using the VersaMark clear ink and sprinkle on the embossing powder. tap off the excess powder and hit your image with a heat tool. Ta-DA! Instant sparkly cuteness!!

Thanks for stopping by today!! Blessings!

Adventure & Promises

I have just started diving in to the book of Joshua and the first chapter is so wonderful! I had to stop and journal right away! I especially love this promise right at the beginning:

Joshua 1:2-3
...Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the people of Israel.3 Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised to Moses.

I thought this would be a perfect place to try out the new "God-Sized Adventure" stamp set I have just listed in the shop.

This whole chapter just screams adventure, excitement, journey and bravery. All the arrows in the stamp set worked perfectly! I'm especially loving the "This is my God" arrow. I have a feeling this is going to be showing up a LOT in my Bible.

I scraped on some regular craft acrylics with an old gift card then I added some shine with some Pearlescent Watercolor Set-21 Colors - 628340 that I splattered over the page. I also stamped arrows to create a wallpaper like background with some gold ink by Stampabilities behind the main image I created with the stamps. I used Tsukineko Full-Size StazOn Multi-Surface Inkpad, Jet Blackink to stamp the main image.

You can get the stamps here. Are you on a God-Sized adventure?

Unfailing Love

Psalm 143:8

Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love,
for in you I trust.
Make me know the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul. (ESV)

This verse popped out to me during my quiet time today and I decided to do some journaling in my Journaling Bible. God is doing amazing things in my life right now. I am in a very special season. I can feel His love and protection being poured out.

But, I have been through trials, too. Times when it is harder to recognize the truly unconditional love of our God. Today I want to encourage you that no matter your season, He is there. He is waiting for you to fall into His arms. His Unfailing Love will hold you, comfort you, guide you and sometimes drag you along.

What is God saying to you today? Whatever He is asking, I want you to say YES! Say YES to God! He will provide any needs while you are obedient. He never changes. His Love will never fail. My prayer for you today is the prayer of the Psalmist, that the morning will show you word of His Unfailing Love.

Here is a list of supplies I used for the page.

Light of the World Journaling Cards

Hi Friends,

I decided to test out the new stamps with embossing powder and I am so happy with how they turned out. I have a confession - I have never embossed before, in fact, I had to go buy a heat tool for this project! I am so excited about these stamps I just have to try ALLTHETHINGS!! I decided to try out making some journaling cards and I am so happy with how they turned out!

I used Black Sparkle embossing powder by Ranger. The background paint is Master's Touch brand Neon Acrylics. The stamps are by me and will be listed in my shop soon. I know I keep saying that! I promise, just a few more days!

Here is a closer look at the embossing. I thought the glitter was perfect for the Light/Shine theme.

I want to say thanks to everyone for the nice comments you have made about the stamps! I hope you are inspired!

Dont forget I am giving this stamp set away before you can buy it in my store! The contest is on instagram and will end Thursday night! Hop over and join the fun!

Light of the World!

Hello Friends!

I wanted to share another of the new stamps which will be available in my Etsy Shop soon, soon, SOON! There will be 3 sets of 4x6 clear, polymer stamps released and I can't wait to show you guys the other sets!

Today I was reading John 9:1-7 Jesus heals a blind man. Sometimes I think it is easy for Christians to skim over these miracles because the Bible just zooms from one to the next. But if we stop and pause, we can really take in what is happening here. Jesus made a man who was blind from BIRTH have perfect vision! Think about what this meant in the Man's life! Jesus refers to Himself as the Light of the World (verse 5). He was certainly the Light of this blind man's world! His healing was absolutely life altering for the Man and likely his friends and family, too!

I want to also acknowledge the Blind Man's Faith. Jesus went right up to him and put spit laced dirt on his face. Right on his eyes! Instead of the man calling out, "Dude, what are you doing?", he simply goes and does as Jesus told him to do and he was healed. He was blind and then he could see. Friends, this is our God!!

Have you ever looked to heaven and wondered "God, what are you doing here?". I know I have. Let's work to focus on obedience to our Heavenly Father. He has a plan and He knows best!

Be sure to hop over to my Instagram feed. I am giving away a set of these Salt and Light stamps before they go on sale in the shop! for this page I used the asteriks, the Light of the World map, and for the background, I used chalk ink to stamp the Shine stamp for some extra texture and interest. I also used just the "light" text from the map stamp and the tiny sun to make the tab. To get just the "light" text I just colored that part of a stamp with a Faber Castell Big Brush pen.

Be Blessed!

Big News for Growing Meadows!

GUYS! I have been keeping ANOTHER big secret from you! After months of work and preparation, I am thrilled to announce Growing Meadows will begin carrying a line of polymer stamps in the shop VERY soon! I want to introduce you to the first set today. I will also be giving one of these sets away on instagram later this week so be sure to watch for that!

Here is a page I made in my Bible today using a few stamps in this set:

Matthew 5:13-16 is one of my favorite passages! I want so badly to write some amazing and inspiring text for you about this passage but nothing will every top the commentary from this She Reads Truth article from back in July 2014. Here is my favorite excerpt:

"Saltiness and brightness are not qualities the salt and light determine about themselves.
They are qualities determined by their maker.
Their purpose is placed within them; it’s not something they muster up by trying harder.
The art of living and loving in a way that stands out is
simply a matter of being who God created us to be.
The light we shine should be His light.
The flavor we add should taste distinctly of the Gospel as He taught it."

I want to encourage you to get with God, find His purpose for you and then GO FOR IT!! God places dreams in our hearts and talent in our hands for a reason, folks. If we can draw near to Him, He will be faithful to show us His plan for our lives and it will be better than anything we can come up with on our own!

I designed this stamp set in hopes that you will be inspired to dig in to The Word and find your own saltiness and your own shininess. So here is the big reveal and I promise to show you more of these stamps in action this week in preparation for the upcoming release to the shop :D SOON! I PROMISE!!
